Ingredients
  • 1 Peach per person
  • grapeseed or avocado oil
  • butter
  • brown sugar or honey
  • vanilla ice cream or ice cream substitute
Instructions
  1. Heat the grill. Half the peaches or nectarines. Rub oil on all sides of the fruit.
  2. When the grill is good and hot, put the cut side of the fruit down first. When there are grill marks, gently turn the fruit to skin side down. Place a dab of butter and a sprinkling of sugar or drop of honey in center of the cut fruit.
  3. Grill until the fruit is tender yet still firm enough to handle.
  4. Remove and serve with ice cream, whipped cream or a creamy substitute. This is when you cold add some cherry conserve as a topping.
Recipe Notes

Note: You can add a fragrant balsamic vinegar, or some cherry conserve during the final stage of grilling. The nectarines will have a tougher skin even after cooking, so you might want to serve them with a knife. Nectarines are also naturally tarter, so you might find you want more sweetener.
