Dill is a wonderful compliment to broccoli. Remember to test the vegetables with a fork to ensure that they are tender crisp and aren’t turning to mush. The steamer that I’m using is made by Parrot Pottery in Carmel Valley, but any standard steamer will do.
Course: Side Dish
Cuisine: Californian
Author: Barbara
Ingredients
  • 1 Head broccoli
  • sprinkle dry dill weed
Instructions
  1. Clean the head of broccoli. Cut it into flowerettes.
  2. Put water in the pan which will hold the steamer. Place the broccoli in steamer and heat on medium high.
  3. After steam starts to appear, cook for approximately 8 minutes, testing to make sure that the broccoli is tender crisp. Add a sprinkle of dill weed.
Recipe Notes

No salt is necessary, and with the Parrot Pottery Steamer, you can serve the pot directly to the table and it will keep warm. Using this steamer, the broccoli should be a little on the crisp side to allow for continued cooking in the pot.
